This is the one with all the different layers and trimmed clips / events. The one thing I am searching for is the original timeline - the one where all the actual work was carried out. I have access to all the clips, photos, music, sound-effects, etc., required to make up the project, there's no problem with that. I will keep searching for answers, but, from what you've said about the history, I doubt there's going to be a satisfactory solution. If I could get Sony Vegas (13) to work properly and safely on the Mac, that might be an ideal solution. Surely, surely someone at Apple (or whoever knocked FCP together) must know?! And nobody seems to understand, or know where! He intimated that there was some kind of 'time out' function built in to FCP that, because you haven't opened it for 'a certain amount of time', you have therefore finished with it - so it squirrels it away. I have read somewhere a response to someone asking this same question, and the chap asked how long the project had been closed / finished. There doesn't appear to be anything anywhere on the computer that even resembles a file that could be a 'Project'. (I've tried this before on Sony Vegas - which I've used for over ten years - and it never, ever works.) This is what I'm really after, as the changes I want to make are too small to try and do it to the finished version.

Access to the Original Timeline / Project. Access to the finished project in both iTunes and FCP.ġ. Access to clips which are still in the EXISTING Library (showing on the left in FCP - although, every time I try again to 'find' the original timeline project, it imports ALL the video clips on the hard-drive, so it's getting incredibly crowded and cluttered in there now!Ģ. Thanks for coming back to me so promptly.ġ. PS: You didn't indicate whether you looked in any backup libraries.
